NOTES on the BRACKET: North Carolina is No. 1 overall seed followed by Louisville, Pittsburgh and Connecticut. That means it would be East vs .West | Midwest vs. South at the Final Four.
Last Five teams in (at large): Dayton, Minnesota, Maryland, Wisconsin, Penn State
First Five teams out (at large): Creighton, St. Mary’s, San Diego State, Arizona, Auburn
Bracket adjustments: Several teams have been moved one seed line to avoid conflicts, improve location, or to balance the bracket. Most notable is probably Boston College switching with Michigan.
Regional placement: Arizona State cannot be placed in the West Region (co-host), Butler cannot be placed in the Midwest (co-host), Memphis cannot be placed in the South (home floor). Also, Dayton cannot be placed, obviously, in the Dayton sub-site.
