ND-OSU highlight first Weekend Primer…

Are you ready for some basketball?  ….  How about our first Weekend Primer.  What you need to know about the weekend in college hoops.   Quick-hitters, notes, and thoughts about the best, worst, most intriguing, and bubbalicious games directly ahead.  Ready, set, here we go …

Best Game … Notre Dame vs. Ohio State (Saturday) – second half of the Hartford, Hall of Fame  Showcase at Indianapolis.  Irish face their first test since the blowout to UNC in Hawaii.  Luke Harangody won’t be rushed back.  The Buckeyes are fresh off a surprise road win at Miami in the ACC/Big 10 Challenge.   Think ND will like seeing OSU’s zone?

Most Intriguing … California at Missouri  (Sunday) –  Two of this year’s early surprises.  The Tigers have already beaten USC.

Bounce Backs … Have to call it a tie.  Game 1: Miami-FL at Kentucky (Saturday).  Game 2: Wisconsin at Marquette (Saturday).   UK took a home loss to VMI.  Marquette received a drubbing at the hands of Dayton.  Both are now at home.

Bubbalicious … Yes, it’s way too early to talk about the NCAA bubble.  Then again, UAB at Cincinnati has all the makings of a Bracket-Buster type affair – especially for the visiting Blazers.

Turf Wars … UNLV at Nevada (Saturday) and Florida at Florida State (Sunday).  Anyone for a tailgate?

Weekend Nightmare … Indiana vs. Gonzaga (Saturday) – this is the Hall of Fame opener in Indianapolis.  The Hoosiers are looking squarely at their fourth 20+point drubbing; this time close to home.

Ideas of your own?  Send us a Weekend Primer rebound.  We’re planning to make this a weekly feature here at Bracketville.   Check out Key Games today, tomorrow and throughout the week under Key Games.
