BV’s latest NCAA Bracket: Badgers “last in”
The Wisconsin Badgers sneak back in on Friday the 13th as the final at-large team in the latest Bracketville 2009 NCAA Tournament projection here at Bracketville ’09. Read now in Bracketology.
Remember, we use both performance and expection in our selection and seeding process. As we’ve noted, however, performance weighs heavier at this juncture of the season. Our last five “in” right now: UNLV, San Diego State, Cincinnati, Kansas State and Wisconsin. The first five “out” right now: Miami-FL, USC, Georgetown, Providence, and Michigan.
Of note, Memphis climbs into the final No. 2 spot. Although the Tigers could (and may) get passed, we think its likely that they won’t lose again until the NCAAs. That would push them close to 30 wins. Just as important, this is not the same Memphis team of December and early January. The “eye test” can tell you that. Louisville sits one spot behind at No. 9 on the S-curve. It’s not so much a result of the Cards’ no-show at Notre Dame, as it is a slight decline in overall performance. If they don’t regain form and hit open shots, we anticipate a 3-4 seed line finish.
