Bracket Bits: December 13 Seed List update; weekend slate

dave1No change at the top of today’s Seed List update – through games on December 12. Kentucky, Duke, Arizona and Wisconsin would still be No. 1 seeds.  The middle and lower bracket spots remain more fluid; nothing unexpected really.  Below the headlines, Northern Iowa and Colorado State continue to climb.  And both are looking like strong NCAA-bid contenders as we head into the holiday season.

December 13 Seed List

Looking forward, the weekend provides a great slate of games.  Below are some of the matchups that could impact the framework of our first in-season bracket update – coming next week …

  • North Carolina at Kentucky
  • Dayton at Arkansas
  • Utah vs. Kansas | at Kansas City
  • Illinois vs. Oregon  |  at Chicago
  • Michigan at Arizona
  • Northern Iowa at VCU
  • Cincinnati at Nebraska
  • Purdue at Vanderbilt
  • Gonzaga at UCLA
  • Eastern Washington at Washington
  • Butler at Tennessee
  • Louisiana Tech at Syracuse

Based on today’s Seed List … Purdue, Nebraska, and Cincinnati are a few of the teams on the outside looking in.  Purdue is among the First Five OUT, so a road win at Vanderbilt would be a nice get.  On the flip side, VCU is currently among the Last 5 IN, having yet to beat a high-level opponent.  And how about Michigan?  How do the Wolverines respond at Arizona following back-to-back losses to NJIT and Eastern Michigan at home.

Enjoy a good weekend of hoops.
